Aspire2lead: November Update

Aspire2lead is a project part-funded by the European Social Fund that supports women in employment and SMEs across the York and North Yorkshire LEP area.

Hello and welcome from the aspire2lead (A2L) team! We have come to the end of the first month of our project and what a month it has been! We have got off to a cracking start with our team of 5 (soon to be 6) and are excited to introduce you to the project and our team.

A2L is an ESF part-funded project that Aspire-igen, along with our delivery partners Beyond2030 and Yorkshire In Business, are delivering throughout the York and North Yorkshire LEP area. With an amalgamation of 12 different strands, A2L hopes to create a Yorkshire that prides itself on equality in the workplace by supporting women. We want women to feel valued, empowered and included.  Our programme equips SMEs with the knowledge, tools and processes to support and promote gender equality.

The project has been off to a busy first month with the recruitment of the team. We started by introducing ourselves and our different experiences and expertise previous to the project. We explained what we wish to bring to the team and how best to approach our roles in order to make the project a success. From the start we bonded fantastically as a team which helped us get stuck in straight away to get the project moving.

During the last few weeks we have begun the paperwork, expanded our research and got the word out with a crash course in marketing from our brilliant marketing department. We have also been busy planning the next stages of the project to include programme progression, launch events and initiating delivery . Most importantly we have had the first participants and SMEs starting the programme!
